Sports make happy but action sports add that indescribable feeling of conquest that in the mountains always comes along with a dizzy portion of adrenaline. There are lots of extreme ways to explore Alta Badia, but you should be well-prepared if you want to try them, so the training possibilities are at your disposal as well.
The whole plateau between La Villa, Corvara and San
Cassiano, is transformed into a large open-air gym, thanks to the projects Explore Your Way and Movimënt. At Piz la Ila and Piz Sorega you will find fitness areas with professional outdoor equipment to train all the muscle groups, inspired by the breath-taking panorama of the mighty peaks of the Dolomites. If you prefer some active fitness instead, try the healthy effect of speed hiking and trail running, enhanced by the purest mountain air, or go searching for treasures with geocaching and test your navigational skills with various orienteering games. Fitness has never been as exciting as it is here, in Alta Badia!
And now that you are ready for real challenges, feel free to choose among traditional and sport climbing, slackline and base jumping, paragliding and hang gliding and many other activities! Rock climbers will be fascinated by the legendary faces and climbing routes, like those of the Sass Dlacia cliff (one of the biggest cliffs in Alto Adige), or those of the area Vallon on the imposing Sella Group, or the famous Via Messner al Grande Muro (Messner's Way on the Great Wall) on Sasso della Croce, just a short walk away from the Rezia Hotel. Moreover, in Alta Badia you will find some of the best fixed rope routes, such as the marvellous Brigata Alpina Tridentina al Pisciadù and the Tomaselli trail. At the same time, just one cable-car ride away from La Villa, at Piz la Ila, there are six slackline tracks of different difficulty levels, as well as the opportunity to experience unique emotions with paragliding or hang gliding (tandem version also available). Have a great time!
